In the beginning, Stim Factory was a scrappy, rebellious idea. Our vision was simple yet bold: to build a community by taking what others saw as junk—outdated or inefficient assistive technology—and hacking it into something better. We believed in the power of DIY innovation, empowering individuals to transform discarded tools into beautiful, functional treasures.
We thrived on this spirit of ingenuity, but as we grew, so did our understanding of the challenges faced by the communities we served. Hacking and modding wasn’t enough. The tools themselves—the ones people relied on every day—were fundamentally flawed, overpriced, and inaccessible to those who needed them most.
